Open access poster: Plausible Bioindicators of Biological Nitrogen Removal Process in WWTPs. Application of Multivariate Predictive Models

Backgrounds: The optimization of wastewater treatment involves the search of new tools for the control of the process. Nowadays, restrictions concerning the discharge of certain pollutants, such as nitrogen and phosphorus are imposed, so new configuration of treatment plants have been proposed. Seguir leyendo

Assessment of plausible bioindicators for plant performance in advanced wastewater treatment

Three full-scale advanced biological systems for nitrogen removal showing different efficiencies were assessed during one year, to investigate the protist communities supported in these wastewater treatment plants (WWTP). Themain goal of this research was to explore the differences of these communities from those observed in conventional activated sludge systems.
